We take great pride in always delivering quality

Arto Paananen has worked as a welder at Recion for 27 years. After completing his education, he joined the company in 1996 – and still enjoys his work just as much today as he did in the beginning:

“The best thing about being a welder at Recion is the variety. You get to use different welding methods and work on many types of pieces. I’m also a bit of a generalist, so besides welding I do other tasks as well, such as assembly.”

“Recion is highly competitive when it comes to experience and professional attitude, and we take great pride in always delivering quality.”

Welding as a niche expertise

Recion specializes in prefabricated piping components and complete solutions for a wide range of industries. Our products and services are used in power plants, the process and marine industries, nuclear facilities, and offshore rigs. We also provide turnkey solutions covering everything from piping design to the installation of prefabricated pipe systems.

We have specific expertise in repair and modification works for nuclear power plants, boiler services, and natural gas pipelines. Our know-how is reflected in the quality of our work, the dedication of our people, and our wide range of welding qualifications. Our welding quality system is ISO-certified in accordance with EN ISO 3834-2.

Wide range of materials and dimensions

Our portfolio of welding qualifications covers both manual and mechanized processes. We are specialized in welding high-alloy, heat-resistant materials. Recion holds an extensive range of approved welding procedure qualifications (WPQR), with around 1,000 procedures in total. WPQR ensures that welds welded by various welding processes meets the required quality for different material combinations, and are capable of withstanding the intended loads and conditions.

Welding procedure specifications (WPS) are selected according to the material and size of the part being welded. We work with unalloyed and low-alloy steel, high-strength steel, various stainless steels, titanium, and nickel alloys. We weld and process pipes from 10 mm in diameter and upwards, with wall thicknesses ranging from 1–100 mm (most commonly 2–50 mm). For plates, thickness varies from 2–100 mm.

Our welding processes include TIG, MAG, FCAW, SMAW, SAW, and mechanized orbital TIG welding. FCAW is performed both manually and mechanically.

Guaranteed quality in welding

We have delivered piping and pressure vessel solutions for five decades where safety, quality, and reliability are never compromised. Our expertise covers both European EN standards and the globally recognized ASME code, giving our customers full confidence no matter where the equipment is installed. Every project is backed by independent certification. In Europe, organizations like Kiwa verify our compliance, ensuring CE-marked equipment that meets the strict requirements of the EU Pressure Equipment Directive. For international markets, our products proudly carry the ASME “S” stamp, a mark of excellence trusted across industries worldwide.

Whether destined for a power plant, refinery, or industrial facility, our piping is built and certified to withstand the most demanding conditions, providing peace of mind and long-term performance you can rely on.

We are licensed to install pipelines for liquid and natural gas (category A). We also hold production certificates for manufacturing cold- and hot-formed welded piping components, as well as steel structures. All of our welders and welding operators are qualified in accordance with EN ISO 9606 or EN ISO 14732. Subcontractors and partners are audited either by us or by third parties.

Advanced workshop equipment

Our workshop is equipped to meet modern needs in both manufacturing and repair. We use lathes and boring mills for welding bevel machining and pipe perforation. The factory produces pipe end reductions and hemispherical heads using hot forming and bending over a very wide range of sizes and wall thicknesses. Bending is done with both cold and hot forming methods up to DN900.
