Behind the scenes of high quality piping systems – meet Minna Törrönen, head of quality at Recion

At Recion, quality is not just a requirement – it’s at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s standard piping systems or highly complex projects in industries with the strictest regulations, every delivery is tailored to meet the customer’s specific needs.

Minna Törrönen, who leads Recion’s quality team, brings both extensive experience and a genuine passion for precision. With more than 13 years in quality management, she has always felt at home in the field and takes pride in seeing things done exactly right. Her mindset reflects how deeply quality is embedded in Recion’s culture.

Hi Minna! How would you describe Recion’s approach to quality?

We manufacture a wide range of piping systems with varying quality requirements. I’m proud that we can deliver solutions for even the most demanding projects, as well as standard-level systems. In the end, quality means meeting our customers’ expectations – and that’s our goal. I’m especially proud of the quality team I lead, which consists of top professionals in the field.

Recion is known for high quality. How is that reflected in daily work?

For us, quality starts with understanding the requirements. In both daily and project work, this often means following a well-defined path. Our management tools, procedures, and guidelines help maintain high standards.

Recion operates in environments with very high standards – how do you ensure quality in those kinds of projects?

Once again, following the path. In nuclear projects, the path may be longer and more detailed, but the outcome is achieved the same way.

Is there a particular project you’re especially proud of, from a quality perspective?

I’m proud of every project that results in a satisfied customer. True project success comes from seamless and effective collaboration within project organization and it’s nice to see that happen. It feels especially good when we exceed expectations – for example, finishing ahead of schedule or when all the welds are successful without any need for repairs.

How do you see the future of quality management in the industry?

Digital solutions and AI are increasingly becoming part of quality management, just as in other fields. Communication has improved a lot in recent years, and it’s important to keep developing as the industry evolves. I’m excited to see what the future brings.
