23-year-old Julia graduated as a plater-welder in June 2025. After finishing school, she picked up the phone and started calling companies that inspired her, and one of them was Recion. She first joined us for a week of practice, passed her welding tests, and is now one of our newest team members!
Hi Julia! Tell us, what made you want to become a welder in the first place?
Welding just kind of seemed cool even though I knew nothing about it. My social instructor arranged a try-out day at OSAO Vocational School in Oulu where I got to try out all sorts of welding and I liked it!
We agree with you, welding is cool! What made you feel that Recion was the right place for you?
I was interested in carbon pipe welding which Recion does a lot of. The atmosphere was relaxed and everyone was very welcoming and helpful. Many people have worked at Recion their whole lives which told me it’s a good place.
And what has the experience been like so far?
At times, it’s been challenging to learn so many new things, but overall, I’ve really enjoyed the learning process. It has been very rewarding and exciting.
Good to hear! What are your hopes or goals for the future?
To get more confidence, keep improving, learn more about welding and maybe someday work on site.
And finally, in your own words, what makes Recion a great place to work?
The people! Friendly and highly skilled workers who are pleased to teach and help others. Great supervisors who make sure you’re doing okay and who are easy to talk to. I’ve felt very welcomed and like I’m already part of the community. There are also great possibilities to grow.
Thanks Julia and welcome to the Recion-team!
